 My first blog ever - apologies if this has been discussed before if so please refer me to where ever I need to go.

Strange one this - tenant looks to have has gone. But most of her stuff is still there. House in a right state. Neighbours say havent seen her for 3-6 months. We have called her, called friends, spoke to neighbours - no sign at all.

I served section 8 then abandonment notice and went in yesterday via back door. I filmed it all. Found 4 dead rats, knee deep litter everywhere, complete health hazard - your worst nightmare - other horrors I will not even mention. Going to have to be redecorated and painted and new carpets before re letting.

Council are still paying rent but I will inform them today she is awol.

My worry is

1.) Tenant is Ok - no way of finding out.

2.) What to do next to repossess property as once council stop paying I need to get it redecorated & re let asap. Do I apply for reposession order or is notice of abandonment sufficient? Also what to do with the remaining contents - how long do I keep it for?
